What evidence exists on conceptual differences in climate change perceptions of smallholders? A systematic map protocol

چکیده
Abstract Background Climate change is affecting small-scale populations worldwide. Evidence of adverse effects has been reported for smallholders’ agriculture, hunting, fishing, and gathering products from natural ecosystems (non-timber forest products). To take precautions or deal with such problems (i.e. to adapt), smallholders need perceive climatic changes. Acknowledging this need, the literature on topic vast. Despite that, authors adopt alternative concepts climate perception, which may hinder comparisons results across studies. Hence, review team aim systematically map usage perception concept. Methods This systematic will follow CEE guidelines conform Reporting Standards Systematic form. The rely five electronic databases scientific publications—Scopus, Web Science Core Collection, BASE—Bielefeld Academic Search Engine, Direct Elsevier PubMed—with pre-tested search terms only in English. Publications be filtered through “articles only” “English language” selections. Titles, abstracts, full texts then screened using pre-defined eligibility criteria, including indigenous inhabiting rural areas, as well presenting explicitly implicitly concept perception. From articles meeting extract encode data while selecting reading. use a codebook pre-elaborated encoding. No critical appraisal study validity undertaken. Finally, database coded metadata all studies made available. present evidence report text, figures, tables, besides catalogue identified definitions.

What evidence exists on the impact of agricultural practices in fruit orchards on biodiversity indicator species groups? A systematic map protocol
Background: Biodiversity loss, due in part to intensification of agriculture, has become a global issue. In this context, fruit producers are looking for nature-friendly production methods. Their aim is to reduce intensive pesticide use and to enhance orchard management in terms of optimising habitats for beneficial organisms. However, fruit production, especially in low-stem orchards, requires...
متن کاملClimate change effects on economic growth: mixed empirical evidence
West Africa is vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This paper analyzed the impacts of climate change on economic growth in Anglophone West Africa with similar background, during the periods 1969-2016. Five growth model equations have been developed to incorporate climate change variables into the model. Panel data estimations such as the fixed effect model, random effect model and Haus...
متن کاملHuman Perceptions of Climate Change
This paper presents an interactive simulation of the effects of emissions and absorptions of anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. The interactive simulation based on the “bathtub” metaphor, was built using the Dynamic Integrated Climate Economy model (DICE)-1992. The interactive tool allows participants to make decisions on the anthropogenic CO2 emissions, observe the consequen...
متن کاملWhat evidence exists for the effectiveness of on-farm conservation land management strategies for preserving ecosystem services in developing countries? A systematic map
Background: An extensive body of evidence in the field of agro-ecology claims to show the positive effects that maintenance of ecosystem services can have on meeting future food demand by making farms more sustainable, productive and resilient, which then contributes to improved nutrition and livelihoods of farmers. However, inconsistent effects have commonly been reported, while empirical evid...
متن کاملWhat are the impacts of nature conservation interventions on human well-being: a systematic map protocol
Background: International policy has sought to emphasize and strengthen the link between the conservation of natural ecosystems and human development. Furthermore, international conservation organizations have broadened their objectives beyond nature-based goals to recognize the contribution of conservation interventions in sustaining ecosystem services upon which human populations are dependen...
